Uganda Airlines has announced temporary disruptions to some of its long-haul services after two aircraft were withdrawn from operation for unscheduled maintenance.
In a travel advisory issued Friday, the national carrier said the move could affect scheduled flights but emphasized that passenger safety remains its top priority.
The airline said the aircraft were taken out of service to allow technical teams to address maintenance issues that arose unexpectedly. It did not specify how long the repairs would take.
Company officials said teams in operations and customer service are working to minimize inconvenience to travelers. Affected passengers are being rebooked on partner airlines where seats are available or moved to alternative Uganda Airlines flights.
In some cases, flights may be consolidated or depart at adjusted times to manage available capacity, the airline said. Passengers impacted by the changes are being contacted directly through phone calls and email notifications with updated itineraries.
The carrier also offered flexibility to customers who wish to change their travel dates, saying rebooking options would be provided without additional change fees.
Uganda Airlines said it is working to secure the necessary spare parts and technical support required to return the grounded aircraft to service as soon as possible.
Further updates will be issued once the maintenance work is completed and the full flight schedule is restored, the airline said.
Passengers traveling on the London and Mumbai routes have been advised to check the airline’s website regularly for updates on flight status.
The airline apologized for the disruption and thanked customers for their patience.
