A top-performing Primary Leaving Examination pupil from Kanungu District has received a full O Level bursary following her outstanding academic performance, in a gesture that has drawn praise from parents, teachers, and local leaders.
Nabaganda Rose, a pupil of Bright Future Primary School in Kihihi Town Council, scored four aggregates in the 2025 PLE, placing her among the best candidates in the district.
Her achievement earned her a full secondary school bursary from Counsel Esther Majambere Musoke through the Kinkizi Work Together Foundation.
The bursary will cover Rose’s education at O Level, easing the financial burden on her family and allowing her to continue her studies without interruption.
School administrators described Rose as a disciplined and focused learner who consistently excelled in class.
In addition to the bursary, the foundation also donated mattresses to all pupils in the area who attained first grade results in the PLE. Parents said the support would help prepare the learners for secondary school life, where basic requirements often strain household finances.
Counsel Majambere Musoke, said the initiative was aimed at rewarding academic excellence and encouraging pupils to remain committed to their studies.
She noted that investing in education was one of the most effective ways to support long-term development in the Kinkizi region.
Majambere recently contested for the Kanungu District Woman Member of Parliament seat in the January elections, finishing third.
Despite the election outcome, she said she remains committed to community service and youth empowerment through education-focused programmes.
