Ugandan singer Lydia Jazmine has dismissed renewed claims of a strained relationship with fellow artist Rema Namakula, saying the pair have never had the personal differences that social media users have long suggested.
Speaking in a recent television interview, Jazmine said she remains on good terms with Rema and described reports of a feud as unfounded.
The singer said online speculation has repeatedly attempted to portray the two musicians as rivals, but insisted those efforts have never reflected the reality of their relationship.
“I have no problem with Rema Namakula,” Jazmine said, adding that attempts by social media users to create conflict between them had failed.
Rumours surrounding the two artists have circulated for years, with some critics previously alleging that Jazmine played a role in the breakdown of Rema’s past relationship with fellow musician Eddy Kenzo. Jazmine has consistently denied those accusations, maintaining that they have never been supported by evidence.
Her latest remarks are the clearest indication yet that she wants to move beyond the long running speculation and focus attention on her music rather than personal gossip.
Jazmine also urged fans to be cautious about information shared on social media, saying not every claim circulating online reflects the truth.
Her comments come as public interest in the personal lives of Uganda’s leading musicians continues to generate online debate, often fueling narratives that artists themselves say are disconnected from reality.
