Hon Betty Kataba to Organize Kanungu Athletics Competition on 7th December
Hon. Betty Kataba, an aspiring candidate for Woman MP in Kanungu District, and also the flag bearer for NRM is set to host a major athletics competition on Sunday, December 7, in the Greater Kayonza at Ntungamo playground, her team announced.
Betty Kataba, together with her husband Eng Hillary Kataba has in recent months increased support for youth sports in the region.
A similar competition organized by the couple earlier this year saw several winners earn scholarships to advance their athletic training.
Some beneficiaries are now training in Ntoroko and Nairobi, with a few working alongside renowned stars, including Olympic champion Stephen Kiprotich, according to organizers.
Betty Kataba, a longtime sports supporter, has previously backed numerous local tournaments through funding, equipment, and youth mentorship.
Today Saturday Nov 30th, she is the chief guest at the final match day of the Comboni League.
Organizers of the upcoming athletics competition say the event aims to identify new talent and strengthen community involvement in athletics across Kanungu District.
