Kataba Development Trust Holds Successful Marathon, Launches Christmas Cup

The Kataba Development Trust on Sunday organized a district marathon that drew hundreds of participants, with Hon. Betty Kataba serving as the chief guest.

Betty Kataba, the NRM flag bearer in the Kanungu District Woman MP race, praised the turnout and encouraged residents to continue embracing sports as a path to discipline and opportunity.

Every participant left with a gift, and standout athletes were awarded scholarships after being identified as emerging talents.

Organizers said the goal of the marathon was to promote fitness, unity and youth development across the district.

After the marathon, Betty Kataba and her team traveled to Bujengwe for the official launch of the Kataba Christmas Cup.

The event marked the beginning of a festive sports season aimed at engaging young people and strengthening community bonds.

Residents described the day as inspiring and full of energy, noting that both activities highlighted the organization’s continued investment in local talent and grassroots sports.
