‘Super Mario Bros. 2’ Officially Titled ‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’

Fans of the Mushroom Kingdom are in for a cosmic treat. Universal and Illumination have officially announced that the sequel to the record-breaking hit “Super Mario Bros. Movie” will be called the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The animated adventure is set to premiere worldwide on April 3, 2026, and excitement is already spreading like wildfire among gamers and movie lovers alike.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie takes its name from Nintendo’s legendary 2007 Wii game, Super Mario Galaxy. That game, which had players hopping across planets and collecting stars in outer space, is still considered one of the best titles ever made. Now, fans will see Mario and friends rocket into the stars on the big screen.

The announcement came during a Nintendo Direct presentation, perfectly timed before the 40th anniversary of the first Super Mario Bros. game, which launched on 13 September 1985. All the major voice actors are back for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Chris Pratt will once again bring Mario to life, with Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad.
