Tumwesigye Rogers Elected Mayor of Kihihi Town Council
Tumwesigye Rogers has been elected the new mayor of Kihihi Town Council following polls held on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, defeating incumbent mayor Sostine in a closely watched race.
According to official results released by electoral authorities, Rogers secured 3,384 votes, while Sostine, who contested as an independent candidate, garnered 2,654 votes.
The election set a paradigm shift in the town’s leadership, ending Sostine’s tenure after a competitive campaign that drew strong voter participation. Results from several polling stations showed Rodgers maintaining a consistent lead throughout the tallying process.
