The Uganda National Students Association Kanungu district executive meeting was held today at Two Stars Hotel, bringing together student representatives from several secondary schools across the district.
The meeting was organised and chaired by UNSA coordinator Kanungu district, Madam Kyasiimire Shillah, who guided proceedings in line with the association’s constitutional framework.
A key highlight of the meeting was the election of new student leaders. Tumisime Zuraika was elected speaker, while Ahumuza Elijah was elected deputy speaker.

Delegates also discussed strategic priorities for the association, including plans to organise student-led radio programmes, strengthen partnerships with local organisations, and collaborate with Kigezi Innovation Hub to expand opportunities for youth engagement and innovation.
Among those in attendance was Teacher Asasire Nicholas, who represented school leadership and supported the students’ initiatives.
The meeting highlighted UNSA’s continued commitment to student leadership, civic engagement, and amplifying the voices of students in Kanungu District..
