Jose Chameleone praises Bebe Cool after singer gifts wife multimillion-shilling home

Ugandan music star Jose Chameleone has congratulated fellow artist Bebe Cool after the singer surprised his wife, Zuena Kirema, with a luxury home, saying the gesture reflects years of dedication and hard work.

The mansion, located in Bwebajja and estimated to be worth about $1 million, has attracted widespread attention on social media, with fans applauding Bebe Cool for honoring his wife with what many have described as one of the country’s most impressive celebrity homes.

Speaking about the gift, Chameleone said he was pleased to see his longtime friend enjoy the rewards of a successful music career.

“I am genuinely happy for Bebe because he is my friend, and I know how hard he has worked,” Chameleone said. “Blessing your wife with such a home is a beautiful thing, and I believe even more blessings will follow.”

Beyond celebrating the new home, Chameleone used the moment to reject long-standing comparisons between himself, Bebe Cool and fellow musician Bobi Wine. He said he no longer measures success by wealth or expensive possessions, adding that each person’s journey is different.

“My pocket is different, and I am content with what I have,” he said. “I am no longer in that competition zone.”

Chameleone also reflected on the changing fortunes of Uganda’s music industry, saying artists have transformed public perceptions through years of persistence and professional growth.

He noted that musicians were once viewed as people with uncertain futures, but many have since built successful careers, stable families and significant investments, demonstrating that entertainment can provide lasting financial security.

Bebe Cool’s gift has continued to generate discussion across the country, with many fans describing it as more than a lavish present. For supporters, it represents a celebration of family and the growing economic success of Uganda’s music industry, where some of its biggest stars have turned decades of popularity into long-term prosperity.
