Maj. Gen. Steven Sabiiti Muzeyi and his wife were involved in a road accident along the Mbarara–Kampala highway. Both are now stable and receiving medical treatment, while investigations continue.
Maj. Gen. Steven Sabiiti Muzeyi, former Deputy Inspector General of Police and current General Manager of Luwero Industries under the National Enterprise Corporation, was involved in a serious road accident on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The crash happened along the Mbarara–Kampala highway in Lwengo District while he was returning from a marriage ceremony in Mbarara.

His vehicle collided with a Fuso lorry transporting cattle, causing significant damage to his car. A military helicopter was dispatched to airlift Maj. Gen. Sabiiti to Kampala for medical treatment. His wife, who was also in the car, sustained injuries but was stabilised along with him. Both are now receiving care and are reported to be in stable condition.
Official statements from the Uganda Police or the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) have not yet been released. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing, and the public has been urged to await updates from the authorities.
