The energy at Blend Gardens in Bwaise was electric today,Sunday as hundreds of fans gathered for the final matchday of the Comboni League Season 9. The community football tournament, which has grown into one of the most vibrant local sports attractions since its launch in 2018, wrapped up its season with thrilling matches, lively entertainment and strong fan support.
The highlight of the evening was the presence of Hon. Betty Kataba, aspiring Woman MP Kanungu district who was the day’s chief guest. She received an enthusiastic welcome from players, team officials and supporters who praised her passion for youth empowerment and her consistent encouragement of sports talent across the region.
Hon Betty Kataba applauded the organizers for keeping the league alive for all previous seasons. She said sports remain a powerful tool for uniting communities and helping young people build confidence and discipline. She also urged sponsors and local leaders to continue supporting recreational spaces that allow youth to grow their skills both on and off the pitch.
The Comboni League has become a tradition for many football lovers especially old students of Bishop Comboni college-Kambuga.
