Police in Uganda’s Wamala region are investigating the killing of a woman who was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside her home in Mityana Municipality.
The victim, identified as Lydia Nansubuga, also known as Madam, was discovered on the morning of July 11 at about 10:30 a.m. in Bamunanika Cell, Katakala Ward, located in Busimbi Division.

Investigators say the woman was found inside her residence with injuries consistent with a knife attack. Police have since opened a murder investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding her death and identify those responsible.
Crime scene investigators examined the home and began collecting evidence as detectives interviewed residents and other people who may help piece together the events leading up to the killing.
The death has left neighbors in shock, with many describing the incident as a painful reminder of the growing concern over violent crime in residential communities. Residents expressed hope that investigators will quickly identify the perpetrator and bring those responsible to justice.
Police have not announced any arrests and have not disclosed a possible motive for the attack. Authorities say investigations are ongoing and urged anyone with information that could assist detectives to come forward.
