Lions Club of Kanungu to Install Sixth President this Sunday, 14th June 2026.

KANUNGU, Uganda – The Lions Club of Kanungu will on Sunday, June 14, install its sixth club president during a ceremony scheduled to take place at Goro Cottages in Kanungu District.

The event will mark another milestone for the service organization, which has been active in community development and humanitarian activities since its chartering by Lions International on May 12, 2021. The club was founded under the leadership of its charter president, Lion Agaba Alex.

According to club leaders, Lion Dr. Kasudha Daniel will officially assume office as the incoming president, succeeding the outgoing leadership as the club enters a new service year. The installation ceremony is expected to bring together Lions members, local leaders, professionals, business people and invited guests from across the region.

PMJF Lion Byarugaba Cornelius will serve as the chief guest during the function.

The Lions Club of Kanungu was sponsored by the Mbarara Lions Club with guidance from Lion Benson Kataate, a former District Governor of Lions District 411B Uganda. The club was later registered as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) by Kanungu District Local Government on Aug. 4, 2021.

Since its establishment, the club has attracted members from diverse professional backgrounds, including business, banking, medicine, agriculture and education, among others. Through volunteer service, members have supported various community initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and addressing local challenges.

Speaking ahead of the installation, club officials said the ceremony will provide an opportunity to reflect on the club’s achievements over the past five years while setting priorities for the future.

Lions Clubs International is one of the world’s largest service organizations, with members dedicated to serving communities through projects focused on health, education, environmental conservation and humanitarian assistance.

The installation ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and will run until 9 p.m. at Goro Cottages.
